New Mental Games

The new projects are in. One the one hand, I am trying to teach myself how to use Dreamweaver so that I can get a job working as a GA somewhere on campus. On the other hand, I think I am trying to teach myself Greek.

The Dreamweaver part was pretty easy to get started with. It was designed to let people with no experience build a website to put up pictures of Lil'Jimmy and his soccer team I suppose. The Greek is not quite the same thing. It was designed to be spoken/written/read by a bunch of people living over 2000 years ago in a (from me) remote part of the world. As such, I'm having a slightly harder time.

But not to worry, since we've given up all but an hour of TV a day, I have plenty of free time to work on both projects and still get all my reading done. Even if the classes I read for are canceled.

On a non-me note, Christo is at it again. He and his wife are putting 'Gates' in central park. Mmmmmmmmm I love it. Lots of saffron coloured fabric and flimsy wooden beams. Nothing says classy like a bunch of cheap crap in an otherwise beautiful park. I give it half a day until people start to tear down the fabric for clothes, souvenirs, or something to sleep under. Go Christo. I guess it's his money, he can do what he wants. Even if want he want to do is make a mess.

A finally thought, people are upset about Howard Dean becoming the new DNC chair. While I am sure some people have legit complaints, the Democrats need something new to fix their damn cart. Dean was the only guy I saw do anything interesting during the run-off. He looked at fund raising a different way which made him look at people a different way. For the Democrats, different is good.
